Zveza slovenskih kulturnih društev - Unione dei Circoli Culturali Sloveni was founded on 7th october,1945. Moreover, ZSKD – UCCS offices located in Trieste, Gorizia and Stolvizza, cater to needs of the member associations. The 85 associations that are presently the Union's members operate in the three provinces of Trieste, Gorizia and Udine and has about 6.000 persons associated. Its objective has however remained unchanged: the cure for the culture, language and Slovenian identity, the efforts of cultural associations to spur cultural growth and to support cultural activities in an ever changing social and political environment, collaboration with the analogous organizations and the other language communities.
